Chaffoteaux error codes
The most common codes for Chaffoteaux gas boilers (Inoa, Inoa Green and others), with what they mean and what to do.
The first digit shows the part concerned: 1 = heating circuit, 5 = ignition, 6 = flue. A « P » (5 P1) is just a warning.
Low water: the boiler is asking to be topped up.
PressureCheck the pressure gauge. If it's too low, top up the water (if you know how) and bleed the radiators. If the pressure drops again, there's probably a leak: call us.
The heating circuit has overheated.
CirculationCheck the pressure and that the radiator valves are open. If everything looks fine and the code comes back, the water circulation needs checking (pump, bleeding, sensors): call us.
The water isn't circulating well in the heating circuit (codes 1 03 to 1 07).

No flame detected at ignition.

First (or second, 5 P2) ignition attempt failed: the boiler tries again.
TemporaryThe boiler restarts on its own once the cause is gone. If the code keeps coming back, call us for a check.
The flame is lifting off the burner.

Flue safety tripped (boilers connected to a chimney): the boiler tries again after 12 minutes.
Flue · safetySwitch the boiler off and air the room. This code concerns the flue: call us. If a CO alarm goes off, or anyone has a headache or nausea, get everyone outside and call 112.
A flame is detected while the gas valve is closed.
TechnicianA component or electronics fault: this needs a technician. Don't open the boiler; call us and give the code shown.
Fan fault.
